Post Processing Computational Engineering International (CEI) has announced a new EnSight video conferencing feature which allows Mac users to share and present EnSight files in real time using Mac OS X Leopard’s iChat Theater. EnSight is an extreme visualization application widely used by the scientific and research communities to visualize, analyze, and communicate computational results for complex visualization problems.

EnSight’s new iChat Theater feature makes it easy for any user to host an online conference where all participants can view and discuss an EnSight session in real time. The feature is fully integrated with EnSight and works just like iChat video conferences, with no need for special settings, knowledge of networks, or system reconfiguration.

“Anyone who can use the easy and intuitive iChat AV application will be able to present and share EnSight visualizations with the same ease,” said Jay Lyerly, a senior developer at CEI and presenter at Apple’s WWDC07. “We’re particularly proud of this tool because it makes a very advanced conferencing feature available to all of our users, regardless of their level of IT expertise.”

The new EnSight conferencing feature will be presented on June 12 at the Mac OS X Scientific Computing State of the Union session at WWDC07.
