Announcements Pointwise will host a Let’s Talk Meshing interactive forum at 10 a.m. CDT (GMT -5) on 6 August to discuss tips for handling complex geometries and very large grids. A prerecorded video will be posted to YouTube and the Pointwise engineers who made the grid will be available for a live discussion and a question-and-answer session.

The existing paradigm for 3D data transfer between softwares is to use neutral file formats such as STEP, SAT, IGES. There are a number of issues related to this procedure ranging from loss of parametric fidelity to simple conversion errors and misrepresentation of geometry.

Announcements ERCOFTAC will host Direct and Large Eddy Simulation 10 on 27-29 May 2015 in Limassol, Cyprus.

The bi-annual ERCOFTAC Workshop series on Direct and Large Eddy Simulation (DLES) which started in 1994 focuses on modern techniques to simulate turbulent flows based on the partial or full resolution of the instantaneous turbulent flow structure.
