Fluent Releases Icepro 4.1

News Fluent Inc., the world leader in computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software solutions, has announced the release of Icepro 4.1, the latest version of its model clean up and import tool for electronics cooling analysis. Icepro 4.1 makes it easy to convert any CAD model into an efficient thermal model. Typically, CAD models are too detailed to be thermal modeling-friendly, so a conversion step is necessary and often tedious. Icepro 4.1 uses an intelligent and automated process to clean up CAD files and quickly make them suitable for thermal analysis in Fluent's Icepak(R) electronics cooling software.

Icepro 4.1 is built on Parametric Technology Corporation's GRANITE(TM) technology, and is CAD-platform independent. This capability allows for industry-standard files such as STEP, IGES, or SAT to be imported with the same efficiency as native Pro/ENGINEER files. Icepro 4.1 has new capabilities for importing flow objects like holes, vents and fans, in addition to being able to represent arrays of holes as flow objects (vents or grilles) with the appropriate flow properties (free area ratio and/or loss coefficients). CAD filtering through feature size is also implemented in Icepro 4.1 thus allowing users to discard objects that are smaller than a certain tolerance.

Icepro 4.1 is easy-to-use and remember, thus reducing the users' learning curve significantly. It imports files quickly and efficiently, automatically ordering each object on a model tree as the data is read into the Icepro module. The result is the rapid creation of an optimal thermal model that is ready for successful high quality thermal analysis in Icepak.

Pricing and Availability

Icepro 4.1 is now available worldwide through Fluent's network of offices and distributors for an annual cost of $US 3,000 per seat.
