| Exa Releases PowerFLOW and PowerVIZ 3.5 |

Exa® Corporation, a leading global provider of computer-aided engineering [CAE] simulation, analysis and design optimization products and services, today announced the immediate availability of release 3.5 of Exa’s PowerFLOW and PowerVIZ software packages. This version of PowerFLOW, Exa’s computational fluid dynamics [CFD] software, includes the ability to simulate rotating geometry, new fan model physics, and a complete new set of case control applications. In addition, Exa’s visualization package, PowerVIZ, has been updated to include major new functionality including the ability to simultaneously view multiple projects for enhanced comparisons and analysis, as well as the ability to input user-defined equations.

Key new 3.5 product features/benefits include:
- Moving Geometry Capabilities (Multiple Reference Frames) – Allows
users to simultaneously simulate moving and stationary geometry, perfect for fans and propellers.
- Improved Fan Model– Offers users greater control and the ability to choose between models and specify how their inline fan model should operate
- PowerPREP™ – New geometry preparation software with an interactive interface to allow customers to quickly assess and adjust surface meshes to ready them for simulation
- PowerCASE™ – Updated case preparation software that will handle
extremely large cases…faster, and is now 64-bit UNIX-native
- PowerEXPORT™ – Easy to use new GUI that simplifies the exporting of simulation data, including load data, into a finite element mesh
- PowerVIZ® – Multiple new features including the ability to view multiple cases, vortex detection, clipping planes and user-defined equations
