CEIViz ’06 Conference Features Training, Leading-Edge Technical Papers |

CEI announces the training and technical program for CEIViz ’06, the first international conference for high-performance visualization. CEIViz ’06 will be held at the Disney Coronado Springs Resort in Orlando, Fla., February 22-23, 2006.
The first biennial conference will offer introductory and advanced training on CEI’s EnSight visualization software and the Harpoon extreme mesher, technical papers on leading-edge applications, forums for formal and casual information exchange, and an exhibition featuring the newest technology from major vendors.
“CEIViz ’06 is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to receive training, hear about the world’s most advanced applications, and network with the best international minds in engineering and scientific visualization,” says Kent Misegades, CEI’s president. “From novice to experts, CEIViz ’06 will be the gathering place to learn and share information.”

The first day of the event will be dedicated to introductory and advanced training, followed by two days of technical papers from leading experts in the field. Presenters and conference topics scheduled to date include:
- Robert J. Kares of Los Alamos National Laboratory on visualization of terascale simulations
- Jeff Jortner of Sandia National Laboratory on macro programming and socket API communications
- Speaker to be announced on visualization applications at the Air Force Research Laboratory
- John M. Blondin of North Carolina State University on discovering the complexity of supernovae through 3D simulations
- Ahmed K. Noor of Old Dominion University on visualization technology frontiers
- Paul Adams of ERDC on high-quality ray tracing of terascale simulations
- Speaker to be announced on off-road vehicle visualization
- Clinton Stone of MSC-Africa on coupled FEA, CFD and multi-body dynamics simulations
- Clovis Maliska, Jr. of ESSS on visualization applications for reservoir and basin simulation in the oil and gas industry
- CEI experts on parallel processing and rendering, presentation tools, automation, and future developments.
CEIViz ’06 is open to eligible professionals currently working in visualization or considering it. Exhibitors at the event include AMD, Fluent, Hewlett-Packard, Linux Networx, SGI and Sun Microsystems.
