"The speed is unbelievable compared to earlier versions," said Tecplot 360 user Michael Connelly, Washington River Protection Solutions. "And I like the ability to use the new fonts."
Tecplot 360 is Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) visualization and analysis software that combines vital engineering plotting and advanced data visualization into one tool. Tecplot Focus is engineering plotting software designed to help users quickly plot, analyze and present engineering and test data.
"Our testing showed that the 2010 versions of Tecplot 360 and Tecplot Focus load data up to three times faster than the previous versions," said Mike Peery, CEO and president of Tecplot, Inc. "That, combined with further improvements in output and usability, lets our users concentrate more on their engineering work and less on running the software they need to generate results."
Enhancements to the 2010 version of Tecplot 360 allow users to:
- Load data up to three times faster.
Benchmark testing on common workflows showed that the 2010 versions load data up to three times faster than the 2009 Release 1 version, and up to 30% faster than the 2009 Release 2 version.
- Produce and print a richer set of plots.
TrueType and Unicode support enables users to annotate in almost any language including Russian, Japanese, Chinese, and Korean.
- Save time with fewer clicks.
The 2010 version tracks the directory most recently used to open or save files—even between sessions—requiring fewer clicks when working with files.
- Simplify corporate deployments.
Streamlined installers provide faster, easier deployment across multiple departments, divisions, or locations.
- Take advantage of an improved EnSight loader.
Tecplot 360 2010 now loads EnSight-format polyhedral, transient, and measured data. It also is significantly faster at loading the data.
Tecplot Focus 2010 users also will enjoy the same faster data loading capabilities, ability to present in any language, fewer clicks and simplified deployments offered in Tecplot 360 2010.
