Commercial CFD softwares used by the industry are not tailor made for a student's needs and this is what Zeus Numerix aimed to address while designing the software.

Dr. Gopal R Shevare, professor at the Aerospace Dept, IIT Bombay and also the co-founder of Zeus Numerix said, "There are a number of students who are interested in fluid dynamics and the field of aerospace and mechanics, but due to lack of equipments and funding to set up proper laboratories in academic institutes, they are not always ready for the industry when they step out of the institute. We wanted to address this problem for designing a software for students and beginners".

"When we first came out with the Tutor software, CFD was mostly available in the premiere institutes but with the increase in it's popularity, many more institutes have started offering CFD as a course. We wanted to help the CFD community in its process of initiation and so came out with ZNTutor-CFD 2.0. It includes a Wizard mode, wherein the student can follow the predefined steps and set various values to simulate a predefined flow problem and visualize the results in just six steps. It also has an Interactive mode for the students to try and solve their own CFD problems. It will help them grasp the complexity of problems and also experiment with them to clear the principles of fluid dynamics".

"A host of features have been added to ZNTutor-CFD 2.0, some of which are, support for 1D problems, structured datasets, enhanced visualization, control of mesh granularity, advanced solver controls. The GUI has been completely revamped to make it more intuitive for the users. ZNTutor-CFD was made keeping in mind that, a user need not only be from the academics but also from the industry. There are numerous cases wherein engineers new to the field of CFD are not well acquainted to the CFD-cycle. ZNTutor-CFD is ideal for them to ease their entry into the exciting field of fluid dynamics".

More information about ZNTutor-CFD 2.0 and the company can be found at its product page.
