OptimaNumerics Improves Intel Dual Core Performance

News OptimaNumerics, leader in high performance technical and scientific computing software, today announced support for the new Dual Core Intel Itanium 2 processor 9000 series. OptimaNumerics Libraries further enhances application performance for high performance computer users.

"Performance can be dramatically accelerated when technical computing libraries are combined with the recent advances in parallel processor architecture," said Jason Waxman, Director, Intel Server Platforms Group. "The combination of mathematical processing software from OptimaNumerics with our new Dual-core Intel Itanium 2 processors will reduce execution time and improve precision for complex scientific and technical applications."

With the highly efficient OptimaNumerics Libraries, dual-core Intel Itanium 2 end users will be able to perform computations at new higher levels of efficiency.

OptimaNumerics Libraries, with linear algebra, parallel linear algebra and parallel random number generators modules, provide high performance versions of LAPACK, ScaLAPACK, PETSc, SuperLU, PLFG and SPRNG libraries. OptimaNumerics has benchmarked computational solution performance improvement of up to 13 times on SGI Altix supercomputers.
