| Comet-Works Joins STAR-Works in Offering Mainstream CAD with CFD |

Steve MacDonald, Chief Executive of the CD adapco Group, says:
"As the only major CFD company to be a SolidWorks Solution Partner, we at the CD adapco Group are able to offer our customers the added assurance of a commitment to collaboration with SolidWorks. With Comet-Works as an alternative to STAR-Works we are able to satisfy the spectrum of demands from the growing community of CFD users that need to work
within their preferred SolidWorks environment. ".
Paul Carey from Halcrow, a leading UK consultancy firm, says:
"We have been using STAR-Works since the CD adapco Group first released it in the spring of 2002 to study ventilation strategies in a variety of buildings. We have successfully used STAR-Works to investigate the airflow and heat transfer characteristics within a nuclear reactor vault. The vault has a highly complex geometry but by using some convenient symmetry planes the SolidWorks front end enabled us to quickly develop an accurate model. The integration of the CFD code within this environment made it easy to add or change the flow conditions and run any number of cases. This made it easy to establish the effects of changing airflow rates on the temperature distribution within the vault. Likewise, studying the effects caused by changes in geometry are also quickly achieved. I would recommend STAR-Works to anyone that requires fast and accurate CFD solutions, delivered entirely within the highly user-friendly SolidWorks CAD environment".
