The work is mainly focused on computer modelling of heat, air and moisture transport in roofing products, roofing systems and buildings in general. There is also some physical modelling in the laboratory and field measurements using real buildings. This is an increasingly important area of work influencing the design of current and future roofing systems worldwide. It is driven by the need for more sustainable constructions with ever greater energy efficiency and internal comfort levels. Various software tools are used for this work, including CFD and in-house developed software, which you may develop further.

Person Specification. A thorough knowledge of engine and airframe on preferably both large and small airplanes, previous teaching experience , and /or a teacher training qualification. At least a bachelors degree in this field; masters degree preferred. Industry experience highly desirable.
