As a CFD Engineer at Garrad Hassan, responsibilities will encompass a wide range of activities, including but not limited to the following:

Performing CFD modeling using commercial available codes of proposed and existing wind farm sites,
Developing/implementing standard CFD modeling methods for Garrad Hassan America, including training staff;
Validating CFD results with field measurement and comparing with linear wind flow models and numerical weather prediction models;
Analyzing wind and other climatic data;

Gasoline high pressure Multi-Hole injectors are producing two phase flows with coherent structures developments, air entrainment, strong interphase coupling. Such process can be simulated in a useful way by predictive Large Eddy Simulations (LES) two-phase flows techniques. The main part of the PhD is dedicated to the use of Lagrangian LES approach for the dispersed spray simulations.

Join a team for Performance Engineering on the development of software tools to model engine behavior and to improve the efficiency and capability of the Performance software toolset.

Tools to be developed cover many aspects of Gas Turbine Performance Engineering, from the preliminary design, through test analysis and into monitoring of the engine fleet in service.

The successful candidate for this position will interpret high-level engineering requirements, to define a set of software requirements which may be implemented. It is expected that this will require a degree of software architecture, in association with other team members.

Function details: He/she will support the activities of the different DSM Business Units namely the Performance Materials Cluster (Engineering Plastics, Dyneema, Coating and Structural Resins), and the various Emerging Business Areas (biomedical materials and Specialty Packaging). This person will be responsible to execute fundamental studies for fluid dynamic problems by using numerical methods. He/She will solve the practical problems with a scientific approach. Here for, he/she will develop mathematical models and codes, set up the programming for simulation and perform simulations. He/she will do visco-elastic fluid stability analyses by using the finite element method, spectral analysis etc. To prove the problem solving concept, he/she will help set up lab equipment and trials.
