Announcements ESI Group, leaders in predictive simulation, invite you to attend the inaugural meeting of the Marine Special Interest Group on March 12-13, 2013 in Gorinchem, The Netherlands.

New methods of construction and the use of new materials used by the marine industry pose new challenges for the prediction of vibration and acoustics in marine structures.

New competences are needed to assess and deploy simulation tools that can assist naval designers in meeting these challenges.

This meeting will

  • support Marine SIG Members to evaluate the effectiveness of simulation methodologies when applied to marine structures;
  • assist in the evaluation and validation for various marine applications to help raise the general competence level of members;
  • identify modeling guidelines for the successful deployment of noise simulation methodologies that result in the creation of intrinsic models for the prediction of structural and acoustic phenomena in marine structures;
  • provide a forum for dissemination of information about such modeling (modeling guidelines, comparison of different methods etc.).

Who should attend? Engineers and Naval Architects interested in how simulation can help improve existing design practice and assist understanding the effects of new construction methods and new materials.
