Announcements ANSYS will host Modeling Positive Displacement Pumps Using ANSYS on Thursday, October 13, 2011 at 9 A.M. EDT.

Positive displacement pumps are commonly used pumps in automotive industry as fuel pumps, steering pumps etc. These pumps are ideal for variable pressure application since the flow rate is just a function of speed.

These pumps are designed to give desired flow characteristics, to estimate leakage through tip and axial clearances, to estimate cavitation and erosion as a result of it and also to understand the noise characteristics and to control them.

Simulation technology can be used to analyze these pumps to come up with better designs. CFD simulations of these pumps can impose challenges such as resolving micron level clearances, turnaround time for simulation, capturing the physics correctly etc.

This webinar session will talk about how ANSYS tools can be used to model positive displacement pumps. Best practices for meshing and solution along with some case studies will be discussed.

Join us for this free one-hour webinar and see how our users are benefiting from the insight that computer simulation offers.
