Simulating Off-Body Pressures to Mitigate Sonic Booms

	Researchers at Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation are producing promising results for the mitigation of sonic booms using a variety of CFD tools to simulate off-body pressures accurately and rapidly. Join Tecplot Thursday May 20, at 10 am (Pacific Time) for an informative webinar featuring Kenrick Waithe, Applied Aero Specialist at Gulfstream.

	Waithe will examine the unique methods his company is using to simulate off-body pressures to mitigate sonic booms and illustrate how these techniques can be applied to different engineering challenges. Specifically, Waithe will show how he and fellow researchers: Use CART3D to simulate the off body pressures of a hypothetical configuration Extract, compute and visualize the data with Tecplot 360 Pass that data to SCULPTOR to change the hypothetical configuration for lowering the sonic boom Repeat the process until a predetermined cost function is satisfied The presentation will be followed by Q&A.
