This 5-day course is aimed at providing mechanical and aerospace engineers with in-depth insight into axial turbines and presenting a reliable, finely tuned solution to the design and optimization of axial/radial turbomachinery flow paths.

1. Axial Turbine Fundamentals. The program covers the fundamentals of thermodynamics, gas dynamics, structural analysis, and the basics of steam and gas turbines and their elements. This comprehensive course extends the engineers' knowledge of axial turbine design and operation to raise their professional level and enhance their engineering practice.
2. AxSTREAM Interactive Workshop on Turbomachinery Flow Path Design and Optimization. The training ensures that all attendees gain a practical understanding of turbomachinery design and optimization using the AxSTREAM software suite. During this hands-on workshop the engineers will use AxSTREAM to perform such tasks as preliminary design of turbomachinery flow paths, inverse and direct 1D/2D analysis and optimization, 3D profiling/stacking of the airfoils, 3D FEA and CFD, and export of results to 3D CAD programs. Each participant can choose a particular track of study to cater for his/her specific interests:
