There will be a Plenary Session entitled “Trends in High Performance Computing for Wind Engineering”, which will include keynote speakers on the future of high performance computing hardware and software as it may influence the future of computational wind engineering (CWE). The future of computing will change the ability and opportunities for CFD applications supporting CWE.

A special open session will follow to provide developers of public domain (both commercial licensed and open-source) CFD software to answer a few general questions and present their views on the tends in computing and their software.

The Call for Papers requiring a 300-500 word abstract is open until October 1. Presentations are desired for all topics related to computational wind engineering applications. Selected presentations will have until March 1, 2010 to prepare a full paper (8-page limit) for publication in the Symposium Proceedings. See the symposium Web site ( for the Call for Papers Announcement and more details about the symposium. Participation by CFD developers interested in supporting wind engineering applications as well as all computational wind engineers are encouraged.
