The seminar presenter, Dr. Yong Yi, joined Fluent Inc. in 2002, after completing his PhD at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Working at the Engine Research Center under Professor Rolf Reitz, his research focused on the spray and mixing processes and their influences on combustion and emissions in diesel engines.

During this work he developed a 1-D jet primary breakup model and multi-component high-pressure evaporation model. His previous education includes a master’s in Mechanical Engineering from Florida International University, a master’s in Power Engineering from Chongqing University, and bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics. While in China, he also served as a college instructor for three years.
