News Fluent Inc., world leader in computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software is partnering with Concepts NREC and Engineous Software to offer a Lunch ín Learn Seminar on the Design, Analysis and Optimization of Turbomachinery, Tuesday, October 7, from 9 a.m to 3 p.m., in Southfield, MI.

The seminar is an excellent opportunity for designers, analysts and managers to see how off the shelf software from Concepts NREC, Fluent and Engineous can be used to build a complete simulation-based design system for turbomachinery. The morning session will include a live demonstration of the Agile Engineering Design System, EASy! For Pumps, focused on the design of an automotive water cooling pump.

The demonstration will employ the iSIGHT integration and optimization tool to determine an optimum impeller blade shape and the embedded FLUENT CFD volute module to analyze and optimize the volute geometry. In addition to hydraulics, geometrical constraints and low-cost manufacturing issues will be included in the design exercise. The design approach that will be presented is applicable to all classes of turbomachinery including pumps, fans and turbochargers.
