News Flows of gases and liquids have always had an aesthetic appeal to both the scientific community and to the general public at large; be it a Leonardo da Vinci water sketch, a turbulent Van Gogh sky in Southern France, or a Hiroshige Ando lithograph of a large wave about to engulf an open boat.

The advent of Computational Fluid Dynamics over the last 20 years has amplified this perception of fluid flow phenomena in the mind of the viewer with a range of very colorful visual representations of flows in everyday objects and situations.

Over the years, Fluent has had numerous compliments paid to us regarding some of the more impactful CFD images and pictures produced by our own engineers as well as by our customers.

To celebrate this fact, a 2006 collection of CFD images has been assembled to reflect some iconic simulations carried out using the FLUENT CFD code over the years. They include swirling flows in a glass of Guinness beer, David Beckham soccer ball free kick aerodynamics, Olympic swimsuits and bob skeleton sliders, the Wright Brothers' first aircraft, an Ariane 5 rocket and airflow around the Brandenburg Gate.

These wallpapers have been created and are now available as free downloads for members of the CFD community to use on your PC's and laptops. We hope you enjoy these pictures as much as we have.
