Using CFD to Improve Valve and Pump Performance

Application CFD ads often amaze us by showing flows over racing cars,advanced aircraft or other objects that we easily relate to. In contrast, CFD is also used to improve the performance of valves and pumps, seemingly more mundane applications.  However, valves and pumps are found in almost all fluid systems, so the additive impact of these performance improvements can be significant.
