SoftInWay is excited to announce its support of Launch Canada in the 2023 Launch Canada challenge! Hundreds of students from universities across Canada will be able to leverage the same software used worldwide by engineering professionals in the space industry.
With access to the AxSTREAM.SPACE software bundle as well as training materials and expert advisers, students in the competition will enjoy the state-of-the-art design tools needed to make their creative rocketry ideas a reality.
Earlier this year, Launch Canada blazed a trail for young engineers wanting to pursue their passion for rocketry at the organization’s first competition. Teams from any Canadian institution of higher education are eligible to apply and join Canada’s growing rocketry community. Those selected will have to design, develop, manufacture, and ultimately launch their rockets. Now, Launch Canada’s students will be diving into the most advanced area of rocket propulsion: the development of a small cryogenic turbopump. Canada has never developed such hardware before, few students ever attempt it, but with AxSTREAM.SPACE, these students aim to be the first, all the while taking practical engineering education to a whole new level.
“We are very excited about this partnership”, remarked Launch Canada’s President and Founder Adam Trumpour. “With the help of AxSTREAM.SPACE, participants in Launch Canada will have the tools to generate breakthrough rocket designs providing them with the experience to drive Canadian innovation and technological development in the space and rocket sectors as they advance in their careers. Each one of us at Launch Canada is grateful for SoftInWay’s assistance, and we look forward to pushing the envelope of what students can accomplish!”
As a company that provides a wide range of engineering services to startups and industry leaders in the space industry, SoftInWay’s experience is likely to prove invaluable to teams that take on the challenge. “SoftInWay has been supporting student involvement in propulsion system and turbomachinery development for over a decade”, said SoftInWay’s Chief Operations Officer Valentine Moroz. “We view it as a privilege to be in a position to help these bright minds flourish, and we are honored that Launch Canada has partnered with us for its 2023 challenge. It is wonderful to see the Canadian rocketry community booming and we’re thrilled to play a part in it”.
The AxSTREAM.SPACE bundle is particularly well-suited for engineering teams developing liquid rocket engines as it includes modules to model liquid rocket engine cycles, design turbopump components and rocket nozzles, and perform rotor dynamics analysis and bearing design. Students in the launch Canada competition will be leveraging its turbopump and rotor dynamics capabilities.
