Modeling Unsteadiness in Turbomachinery with the Non-Linear Harmonic Method
Posted Sunday August 7 at 7:47pm

Due to its high complexity, unsteady flow in turbomachinery often generates high levels of noise, low efficiency, vibrations, and increased fuel consumption. Those are the most typical challenges engineers try to tackle through CFD analyses when creating new designs or optimizing existing ones for rotating machinery.

On Wednesday August 31st, Cadence Design Systems will host the live webinar Modeling Unsteadiness with the Non-Linear Harmonic Method which is a way to avoid time consuming full-unsteady simulation.

Traditional time-domain unsteady methods can simulate all the necessary physics needed to predict performance, but are usually too expensive to be fully integrated into the product design phase. Cadence's Non-Linear Harmonic (NLH) method is a great alternative to conventional approaches as it provides high fidelity results at a fraction of the computational cost.
