* Developed User-Defined Functions (UDF) using C++ for ANSYS-FLUENT to model flow field in fibrous-porous media. * Tracked aerosol particles using Discrete Phase Modeling (DPM) with random Brownian motion for nano-micron size particles. * Introduced and solved analytical expressions for aerosol filtration inside simulating domain using a novel macro scale modeling. * Consideration of: Slip boundary conditions for nano-scale fibrous structures; User-defined scalars (UDS) for saturation profile and conservation of concentration; Momentum and Energy source (sink) terms for macroscale modeling of porous media. * Conductive–Radiative heat transfer modeling inside fibrous-porous media using P-1 approximatin and Rosseland approximation. * Studied filtration of droplets and non-Newtonian fluids in fibrous porous media using Two-Phase flow simulation. * Developed a novel and CPU time affordable CFD methodology, to optimize pleated filters under transient dust deposition during their life cycle. * Generated and meshed realistic 3-D random micro-structures as a simulation domain using GAMBIT, enhanced with journal files with C++ and/or FORTRAN for domain/mesh generation. * Performed post-processing using MATLAB, and/or TECPLOT. * Conducted simulations with parallel processing on Linux. * Designed and conducted experiments to validate CFD simulating results. * Semi-annual reports and presentations to Industrial Advisory Board meetings at Nonwovens Cooperative Research Center (IAB-NCRC).
