Title:
Large eddy simulation of turbulent premixed and stratified flames
Description :
A new turbulent combustion model, Filtered Laminar Flame - Probability Density Function (FLF-PDF) model for premixed and stratified & premixed flames is developed, tested and validated by simulating the Cambridge swirl burner experiment. A flamelet hypothesis and tabulated chemistry approach is used to accommodate complex chemistry. A strategy to model differential diffusion in turbulent premixed burners is also developed and tested. A differential diffusion number is proposed to quantify the presence of differential diffusion effect in burners.
