Recently qualified to sign-off residental work, with a view to pursuing the non-residential counterpart.
Building Simulation Engineer 2011 to 2014
Cardiff University - Welsh School of Architecture
Cardiff
1) Investigated the performance of de-contamination LED devices in Ventilated Healthcare buildings, involving the use of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD). Was able to demonstrate nearly two orders-of-magnitude improvement in contaminant levels. 2) Developed a spreadsheet-based Energy Modelling tool to show that an innovative LED lighting formalism can reduce PV system costs and payback times for both office and residential buildings.
Masters Project/Internship Jun 2010 to Feb 2011
Mentor Graphics, AECOM and Greenwich University
Greenwich, St Albans
1) Simulated a low-energy Healthcare facility using CFD (FloVENT), and reduced contaminant concentrations by many orders-of-magnitude. Collaborated with Mentor Graphics. 2) Used Bentley Microstation and IES-VE to prepare a geometric model of the University’s new library and architecture and construction department for subsequent thermal/compliance analysis by third party.
