Simulated oil sloshing in oil pans to ensure that pickup tubes remain covered during high lateral acceleration. Calculated flow through water pumps, block and head water jackets to determine flow losses and heat transfer coefficients for thermo-structural analyses. Calculated temperatures in the Saturn VUE starter-generator to avoid thermal breakdown of the electrical insulation.
