Employment History
Thermal and Flow Analysis Engineer August 2006-June 2009
GE
Bangalore, India
- Scheduled & executed projects on gas turbine thermal design (40 MW/100 MW) & mentored new engineers. - Supported performance improvement plans, root cause analysis, mechanical design for life estimation (HCF/LCF), crack propagation life and design for material optimization. - Developed a system level heat transfer model to predict metal temperature distribution in compressor & turbine rotor for light duty industrial gas turbine using PATRAN/PThermal. - Developed a system level flow model for the HPT rotor comprising of turbine blades, bearings, labyrinth seal/brush seal & exhaust frame of a light duty power generation gas turbine. - Improved modeling methodology for predicting temperature in an un-purged cavity in collaboration with CFD engineer. Same study was approved for incorporation into GE internal design practice. - Supported mechanical design team in eliminating pre-spin operation for turbine wheels that resulted in total saving of 4.13 Million Canadian Dollars.
FInite Element Analysis Engineer January-August 2006
Larsen & Toubro Ltd
Baroda, India
- Executed projects on design & analysis of mechanical components such as chassis, arm, bucket and boom of earthmovers of VOLVO Company for construction using ANSYS & HYPERMESH. - Performed linear & static stress analysis on these components for wheel loaders and backhoe loaders. - Coordinated with on-site engineer to decide FEA methodology based on inputs.
Thermal Analysis Engineer Trainee February-July 2005
AIRBUS France
Toulouse France
- Developed a finite element thermal model to accurately predict average ambient temperature inside the engine pylon primary structure of AIRBUS A-380 using IDEAS/TMG and validated it against the test data. - Performed parametric studies on the simplified engine pylon model to quantify the effect of different mass flows coming from hot/cold sections around the engine pylon.
