1. Study of Steam Turbine (Casing and Rotor) layout thoroughly to identify the fluid flow regions.
2. Develop & establish profiles for blades in steam turbines with the support from domain expertise & consultants.
3. Develop velocity triangles, performance evaluation, Estimation of losses, calculation of blade twist angles.
4. Generate model & grid of flow domain.
5. CAD Modeling and Hexa-meshing done by using I-DEAS, ICEM-CFD & CFX-Turbo grid.
6. Defining the boundary conditions and material definition, complete the physics of the problem by using CFX-PRE.
7. The Convergence criterion was obtained using the first and second order convergence criteria by giving the residual (RMS) value using CFX- SOLVER.
8. Performance parameters like Power, Torque and Efficiency etc are calculated using CFX-POST results.
9. The results in analysis give the insight into the various losses like profile, secondary and leakage etc.
10. Perform CFD analysis.
11. Validate CFD results.
12. The results are sent to experts and based on feed back we will modify the designs as needed.
