News FRIENDSHIP SYSTEMS has released a new version of its upfront modeling and optimization software CAESES and CAESES Free.

We have improved the surface triangulation for complex models, which is important for robust generation of closed STL files.

On 20 September 2015, my new employer, 3-D printing company Branch Technology, revealed its latest build at the Museum of Design Atlanta (MODA). The 18-foot-tall sculpture was featured as part of MODA’s Designers, Makers, Users: 3D Printing the Future exhibition . Designed by renowned architect Keith Kaseman, co-designer of the Pentagon’s 9-11 Memorial, the sculpture TN-01 shows what is possible when 3-D printing is applied at architectural scale.

Announcements V.V. Sunil Kumar Vytla, CFD engineer of Cradle North America Inc., will host a free eSeminar on solving fluid-structure interaction (FSI) problems with SC/Tetra, Cradle’s thermo-fluid simulation software, and the Abaqus structural analysis software on April 28th.

This eSeminar highlights some of the unique features of the software including overset mesh capability and efficient handling of moving elements using the (ALE) Arbitrary Lagrange-Eulerian approach.

Announcements NAFEMS will host Elements of Turbulence Modelling, a two-session e-learning course on May 4th and 11th.

The majority of flows in nature and in engineering applications are turbulent. Turbulent flow fields are three dimensional, chaotic, diffusive, dissipative, and random. These flows are characterized by velocity fluctuations in all directions with infinite number of scales.
