One could be forgiven for thinking the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) world has converted entirely to unstructured (or hybrid) meshing. Certainly, Pointwise has contributed to that impression with our emphasis on anisotropic tetrahedral extrusion (T-Rex), our highly automated hybrid mesh generation technique with near-wall boundary layer resolution.

At Syracuse University, a mixed group of both graduate and undergraduate students had the opportunity to participate in a project involving an innovative new wing design. Overseen by Prof. Thong Dang, the team sought to analyze this new design to determine its practicality and effectiveness.
