New Software: SAMG for Modflow Released

News The MODFLOW software from the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) organization simulates flows in groundwater reservoirs, to show transport and diffusion of certain materials (e.g. pollutants).

The software package SAMG was developed for highly efficient, numerical solutions of large, sparsely populated matrix problems.

CFD Cloud Computing Experiment

News Researchers Burak Yenier and Wolfgang Gentzsch have issued an open invitation to members of the CFD and FEM community to join a 3-month experiment in applying the cloud computing service model to CFD and FEM workloads.

With the challenges of data privacy, incompatible licensing models, and a dozens others noted, it is time to experiment how to achieve the benefits of the cloud computing model for the manufacturing industry.
