CD-adapco CD-adapco's flagship product, the recently released STAR-CCM+ V5.02, is the first that CD-adapco has ported directly onto Microsoft Windows 7, giving the engineering community direct access to multidisciplinary engineering simulation from the comfort of this new operating system.

Joined efforts between the two companies are underway to incorporate Windows 7 light-up features in STAR-CCM+. For compute-intensive simulations performed over a cluster of Windows computers using Windows HPC Server 2008, STAR-CCM+ will be tightly linked to the job scheduling features, compute node management features, and image deployment capabilities.

New Software: Pointwise CAE Plug-in Allows Solver Customization
Posted Fri April 09, 2010 @09:46AM
Print version Email story Tweet story
News The latest release of Pointwise’s mesh generation software for computational fluid dynamics (CFD) meshing features CAE plug-in, an API for customizing the product to export mesh and boundary condition data for a CFD solver or other CAE software file format.

“Even though Pointwise supports a broad variety of standard, de facto standard, and proprietary file formats to which grids can be exported, there’s always one more we haven’t yet implemented,” said Patrick Baker, Pointwise’s manager of product development. “With the CAE plug-in interface, Pointwise’s customers can implement their own custom exporter and have it working within hours.”
