News Reaction Design, the clean technology chemistry leader, today announced a strategic relationship with ANSYS, Inc. The agreement calls for Reaction Design to deliver to ANSYS customers a new ANSYS® FLUENT® optimized version of CHEMKIN-CFD™, an advanced chemistry simulation technology that efficiently and robustly couples accurate chemical kinetics to flow simulations.

Available to ANSYS FLUENT licensees for free, CHEMKIN-CFD, coupled with ANSYS FLUENT technology, facilitates highly accurate combustion and emissions analysis for automotive engine or industrial power generation designs.

News ANSYS will host a webinar on the use of ANSYS 12.0 meshing tools for automotive applications on Tuesday, June 16, 2009 at 9:00 A.M. EDT and again on Thursday, June 18, 2009 at 4:00 P.M. EDT.

ANSYS Workbench 2.0 meshing tools allow greater automation, which are perfect for design optimization and upfront simulation. The existing tools such as ANSYS ICEM CFD and ANSYS TGrid have also been updated at release 12.0.

Application: Cornell Pump Company Experiences 100x Speed Up Generating Performance Curves

Application Blue Ridge Numerics, Inc. today announced that Cornell Pump Company experienced a 100x speed up of a full transient system-level simulation and performance curve generation using the new CFdesign Motion and high performance computing (HPC) Modules, released earlier this month.

Cornell design engineers were able to perform a series of transient simulations to develop a complete performance curve, enabling evaluation of a centrifugal pump design in only two hours, down from 200 hours, resulting in a significant reduction in product development time.
