ANSYS FLUENT 12.0 and Panasas Deliver 2X Speed Up

ANSYS A performance study of ANSYS® FLUENT® 12.0 was conducted between Panasas, the University of Cambridge, and ANSYS to demonstrate the benefits of the new parallel I/O scheme in ANSYS FLUENT.

The study compares release 12.0 with 6.3 for solver and data-write timings of industrial CFD models scaled from 16 to 256 processing cores.

Zeus Numerix Creates a 4.25 Billion Cell Mesh

News In its endeavor to push the frontiers of technology, Zeus Numerix (ZN) has created a grid of 4.25 billion cells for the simulation of the RADAR cross section of a generic missile.

The 96 GB grid file was created after innovation in fields like storage of files, improvement in data structures to write files in a special manner, and effective parallelization. The file is CGNS compatible for better interoperability.

New Software: CEI Releases New Version of Software for CFD Simulation

Post Processing Computational Engineering International (CEI) announces EnSight CFD, new software for analyzing, visualizing and communicating computational fluid dynamics (CFD) results for scientific and engineering problems.

EnSight CFD is designed to allow users to explore CFD data interactively with twice as many functions tied to the computer's mouse buttons, and right-click menus preloaded with context-sensitive options. These improvements allow users to post-process and visualize a model using only the mouse.
