New Software: CEI Announces More Powerful Version of EnSight Lite

News CEI announced today the latest release of its visualization product, EnSight Lite, version 9.0. This version is more affordable and easier to use. EnSight Lite is aimed at small- and medium-sized companies, and large companies looking to maximize their post-processing investment across the enterprise.

New improvements to EnSight Lite include: easier to use interface, cutting user time to reach common features; the use of keyframe animations, a method to control a virtual camera for movie sequences; and the ability to work with both 32-bit and 64-bit systems.

News CD-adapco will host a webinar on Computational Fluid Dynamics in Offshore Oil and Gas on March 19, 2009 at 15:00 GMT (11 AM EDT, 16:00 CET).

The ongoing push for more new produceable oil and gas reservoirs is leading the industry into greater offshore depths and harsher environments. The challenge of developing and producing from fields at depths greater than 5,000 feet requires workers to operate unproven technology in harsher environments (greater ocean pressure, lower temperature, different well fluid temperatures, pressures, compositions).

STAR-CCM+ V4 Released: Integrate, Automate, Innovate

News In the six years since its first release, STAR-CCM+ has evolved into more than just a CFD code, and is now an integrated platform for powerful multi-disciplinary simulation, including: combustion; multiphase flow; heat transfer through solids and fluids; dynamic fluid body interaction; and solid stress: all from within a single environment.

As with each previous release, STAR-CCM+ V4 includes new physical models, such as the introduction of erosion modeling, improved combustion models as well as the capability to simulate melting and solidification.
