News Kenneth Karbon, performance engineer at General Motors Vehicle Engineering, will be the keynote speaker at the second biennial CEIViz ‘08 conference.

CEIViz ‘08 is the international conference for high-performance visualization. The conference will be held at the Radisson Lord Plaza Hotel in Baltimore, MD, September 23-25, 2008.

Application Modeling hazardous scenarios has become an essential part of engineering design for Offshore activities. Physical testing can be prohibitively expensive and in some cases impossible so modern Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) techniques are commonly used for the modeling of exhaust plume dispersion, natural and forced ventilation efficiency, flaring, toxic gas releases, fires, explosions and hazardous spills.

Conducting and interpreting simulation research requires a substantial amount of specialist knowledge and so Offshore organisations frequently outsource the task to dedicated companies.

News Coolit introduces powerful new tools for IC package construction in its latest release, v.8. The new tools permit semi-automated building of detailed parametric chip models for several classes of IC packages.

The detailed models can be used as is or converted to compact models using several offered compact model options and the user can switch back and forth between detailed and compact models as desired.
