Application: ANSYS Offers Swimmers Best Chance at Beijing Games

News ANSYS, Inc., a global innovator of simulation software and technologies designed to optimize product development processes, today announced that 35 swimming world records have already been broken by athletes wearing a new high-performance swimsuit designed using engineering simulation software from ANSYS.

The Speedo® LZR RACER® suit, developed for elite swimmers and launched in February this year, has been proven in testing to optimize swimmer performance better than any suit to date.

Winners for the image/animation contest will be announced at the CEIViz '08 Awards Ceremony in Baltimore on Tuesday, September 23, 2008.

Business: ANSYS Receives SEC Clearance for Ansoft Acquisition

News ANSYS, Inc. and Ansoft Corporation today announced that the Securities and Exchange Commission has concluded its review of the Registration Statement on Form S-4 in connection with ANSYS' acquisition of Ansoft.

An amended Form S-4 was filed and became effective on June 20, 2008. A special meeting of the Ansoft stockholders to approve the transaction has been set for July 23, 2008.

News The SPT Group, the leading vendor and developer of flow assurance software and services, and CD-adapco, a leading global vendor of 3-D dynamic flow, thermal, and stress solutions (CAE/CFD), today announced an initiative to investigate and grow the potential between SPT’s OLGA® and CD-adapco’s STAR brand software systems.

The two companies will work closely with the market to define and implement streamlined processes for using the best features of both OLGA® and the STAR solvers to significantly improve the timely, practical insight that can be gained by engineers using computational flow assurance.

Over the course of the average lifespan, the human heart will beat more than 3.5 billion times, pumping oxygen-rich blood throughout the body. Modern medical imaging techniques, like ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), have helped scientists to unlock many of the heart’s secrets and aided in the treatment and prevention of numerous cardiac diseases.
