News On June 23-25, 2008 CD-adapco will host its highly anticipated STAR American Conference 2008 in Dearborn, Michigan. In addition to CD-adapco customer presentations, this exciting three day event will include discussions on CD-adapco's latest CAE software developments, a technical workshop, and an exhibition of our hardware and software partners.

The conference is free to attend and will kick-off with keynote addresses from Andy Slater, Director of Flight Sciences at Gulfstream Aerospace and Tony De Vuono, VP & CTO of Modine Manufacturing.

ARAI to set Engine R&D with Flowmaster V7 Automotive

News In December 2007 the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) purchased their first Flowmaster V7 Automotive license. Flowmaster was selected after rigorous evaluation as part of ARAI’s overall R&D, Testing and Certification strategy.

ARAI is a premier automotive R&D institute in India offering design and development services to its customers in the area of engines, NVH, structural dynamics and CAE. ARAI extends technical assistance to the Government of India in the formulation of automotive standards.

Steve Karman to be Visiting Researcher at Pointwise

News Pointwise announces that Dr. Steve L. Karman Jr. of the SimCenter: National Center for Computational Engineering at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga will spend a month at Pointwise’s Fort Worth, Texas headquarters as this summer’s visiting researcher.

“We are excited to have a researcher of Dr. Karman’s caliber working with us this summer,” said Dr. John P. Steinbrenner, Pointwise’s Vice President of Research and Development. “His unique insight and experiences in the fields of computational fluid dynamics and mesh generation should have dramatic impacts on our technology.”

Business: Flow Science Opens Office in China

News Flow Science Inc. announces the opening of an office in Shanghai, China for sales and support of its FLOW-3D computational fluid dynamics software.

The local company, FLOW-3D Trading (Shanghai) Co., has taken offices located at 138 Pudong Boulevard in Pudong New Area. FLOW-3D Trading is a limited liability company that is majority owned by Flow Science.

Events: Optimizing Design and Operation of Hydraulic Structures

Announcements You're invited to attend a live, online seminar where Flow Science will discuss two successful hydraulics projects utilizing FLOW-3D, a high level simulation tool.

This demonstration will be held Wednesday, May 14 at 1:00 PM EST and covers a successful fish ladder renovation project and the evaluation of a spillway's performance during revised PMF conditions.
