Application: BMW Sauber F1 Team Races to the Front After Increased Emphasis on CFD

Application ANSYS, Inc., a global innovator of simulation software and technologies designed to optimize product development processes, today announced that ANSYS engineering simulation software assisted the BMW Sauber F1 Team, who has more than double last year's points total in the 2007 Constructors' Championship.

Prior to the season, the BMW Sauber F1 Team signed an extended agreement with Fluent Deutschland, a subsidiary of ANSYS, Inc., to use FLUENT(R) computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software to run powerful engineering simulations on its new supercomputer -- one of the largest in Europe -- rather than invest in a second wind tunnel.

News Blue Ridge Numerics announced today the company has joined in partnership with SpaceClaim Corporation, the leading provider of CAD-neutral modification solutions for the extended product development team, to offer CFdesign for SpaceClaim Professional 2007. The joint solution empowers engineers to conduct design-driven flow and thermal trade-off studies without having to be CAD operators.

Samsung Heavy Industries Makes Big CFD Purchase

ANSYS ANSYS, Inc., a global innovator of simulation software and technologies designed to optimize product development processes, today announced that the global shipbuilding company Samsung Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. (SHI) in Seoul, Korea has selected ANSYS technology to improve the quality and fluid dynamics of their tankers, vessels and other products.

SHI contracted with the ANSYS channel partner Advanced Technology Engineering Service Co., Ltd. (ATES) in Korea for 128 parallel licenses of ANSYS computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software. This is the largest parallel license add-on ever completed in the Korean shipbuilding industry.
