Samsung Heavy Industries Makes Big CFD Purchase

ANSYS ANSYS, Inc., a global innovator of simulation software and technologies designed to optimize product development processes, today announced that the global shipbuilding company Samsung Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. (SHI) in Seoul, Korea has selected ANSYS technology to improve the quality and fluid dynamics of their tankers, vessels and other products.

SHI contracted with the ANSYS channel partner Advanced Technology Engineering Service Co., Ltd. (ATES) in Korea for 128 parallel licenses of ANSYS computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software. This is the largest parallel license add-on ever completed in the Korean shipbuilding industry.

Announcements Phoenix Integration will host a webcast covering their flagship product, PHX ModelCenter®, a simulation-building environment in which it is easy to add third-party CAD, meshing, FEA, and CFD analysis models as "plug-ins".

The webcast, presented by Dr. Peter Menegay, will be held Friday November 2, 2007 from 2-4 pm US Eastern Time.

News ANSYS, Inc., a global innovator of simulation software and technologies designed to optimize product development processes, today announced its inclusion on Software Magazine's 2007 Software 500 ranking of the world's largest software and service providers. ANSYS was ranked 122 internationally, with software revenue of $263.6 million. This is the first time that ANSYS has made the list, which is marking its 25th year.
