Flomerics Helps Canadian Schools Pursue F1 Pole Position

News Flomerics is providing its EFD.Pro™ computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software free-of-charge to schools in Canada. The aim is to help students involved in the F1 in Schools™ CAD/CAM Design Challenge by improving the aerodynamics of their designs in a competition where a small fraction of a second separates the winner from the other participants.

Business: Dr. Daniel Schikore Promoted to VP of Engineering at CEI

News Dr. Daniel Schikore, a senior developer at Computational Engineering International (CEI), has been promoted to Vice President of Engineering. Dan joined CEI, Inc., a leading provider of CAE pre- and post-processing tools, in 2000 and worked on high performance rendering techniques for the display of large-scale data as well as being the team leader for Apex – CEI’s visualization framework.

Prior to joining CEI, Inc., Dan received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Purdue University in 1997. Following graduation, Dan joined Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) where he participated in and led components of a research and development effort to advance LLNL’s ability to visualize the results of scientific simulations on high performance computers.

ANSYS ANSYS, Inc. has released the latest version of FLUENT for CATIA V5 3.1 to customers. FLUENT for CATIA is a rapid flow modeling tool fully embedded into Dassault Systeme’s Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) that allows design and process engineers working within CATIA V5 to rapidly and accurately validate their designs much earlier in the product development cycle.
