Announcements The Danish Society for Industrial Fluid Dynamics invites you to a one day seminar concerning "New Trends in CFD". The Seminar will take place October 3rd, 2007 at Denmark's Technical University (DTU) Building 306, just north of Copenhagen from 9 AM to 4 PM.

The seminar will give an overview of new advances and development in both commercial, open source and university CFD-codes and allow the participant to interact with the developers.

Announcements MARINE CFD 2008 will be held 26 - 27 March 2008 at Southampton University on the south coast of England.

This International conference will offer delegates an opportunity to meet and discuss the latest developments and practical marine application of CFD. The programme will also include software workshops which will give delegates a chance to participate in and discuss demonstrations of the latest CFD software.

News Sharc Ltd has released the latest versions of its extreme meshing software, Harpoon.

Amongst the newest features are the highly anticipated CAD loaders! It is now possible to import models directly from CATIA and Unigraphics in their native formats and from other CAD packages via the IGES universal file format.

News What does a 25-year-old engineering student studying aerodynamic optimization want more than anything in the world: a chance to work for six months with the ING Renault F1 Team in their Research and Development Department in Enstone, United Kingdom — with full accommodations and a company car, to boot!

That is just what happened to Josef Dubsky from the Czech Republic when he entered the 2007 Altran Engineering Academy’s fourth annual worldwide competition — and defeated nearly 1,000 young engineers who entered detailed technical projects in the competition.

Announcements The European Research Community on Flow, Turbulence and Combustion (ERCOFTAC) continuously strives to strengthen and deepen co-operation and collaboration between the industrial and the European research and science communities. ERCOFTAC also seeks to stimulate interest in applied fluid dynamics amongst Europe’s young researchers and to engage them in the exciting developments being pursued by leading academics and research institutes.

The annual Autumn Festival is motivated entirely by these aspirations and, as such, is a key event in the ERCOFTAC calendar. This year the Festival will be held from the 29th - 31st October in the august surroundings of the Belgian Royal Academy.
