Application: CAD-Integrated CFD Software Helps Design Innovative Flush Valve in Less Time
Posted Thu August 17, 2006 @10:10AM
Print version Email story Tweet story
Application EFD.Lab CAD-integrated computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software saved time in the design of an innovative flush valve by enabling Johnson Design engineers to solve design problems utilizing software rather than hardware prototypes.

A unique feature in Johnson Designís Denali Flushometer flush valve is that it delivers a fixed volume of water independent of the position of the restriction on the rolling diaphragm which is randomly installed at various positions during the valve assembly. Johnson Design Engineering Manager Dustin Borg used EFD.Lab to evaluate the performance of the valve as the restriction was rotated 360 degrees in order to ensure that it delivered the right amount of water in each position.

Application: Flomerics' Focus on Electronics Cooling Improves Design
Posted Mon August 14, 2006 @01:15PM
Print version Email story Tweet story
Application Unlike general-purpose CFD companies, Flomerics has always been focused solely on a single industry: electronics. The idea behind development of Flotherm was to build in electronics intelligence on top of CFD. This intelligence would, in turn, be used to make problem setup, modeling, and analysis much faster, more efficient, and more accurate for engineers who design electronics.

In Taking the Heat Out of Electronics, Desktop Engineering speaks with Sherman Ikemoto, Business Development Manager for Flomerics Inc., and Flomerics users on what Flotherm brings to electronics design.
