Aerodynamic simulation is now a routine part of automotive design. Once regarded as a high-end application, CFD simulation is now used at every stage of a vehicle design from earliest concept to post-production modification. As the value of CFD in the automotive industry has increased, its users have become more demanding, requiring (among other things) automatic geometry repair, fine mesh control, repeatability of calculation and rapid turn-around times.

ANSYS has withdrawn its original filing and has refiled its Notification and Report Form with the FTC and the Antitrust Division of the Department of Justice on March 27, 2006. As a result, the FTC staff will have more time to review the information submitted by ANSYS and Fluent before the staff must determine what additional information, if any, it will request.

I am looking at the effects of the collapse of a wave on a beach and effects on the beach as this wave flow rushes up and down the beach.

I am using the 2D Volume of Fluid simulation in fluent 6 and I have adapted a region in my mesh and patched it with water to represent the wave collapsing onto the beach, however when I run the simulation I have to use a very small time step in order for results to converge.

The aerodynamic design dramatically reduces wind resistance, turning in profit-boosting fuel-efficiency performance. Key test applications used to achieve the design were Computational Fluid Dynamics, a computerized application used to optimize design in the early stages of the process, and 1/8 scale wind tunnel testing for basic shape development.
