News SoftInWay, Inc., is pleased to announce the availability of a new version of AxSTREAM™ - a professional tool for rapid turbomachinery flow path design and optimization.

AxSTREAM version 1.7.05 adds some important features to enrich the software's capabilities in turbomachinery design and optimization. The major new feature is the addition of a DoE-based optimization tool AxPLAN to Multistage Axial Compressor flow path computation. Besides performing preliminary design, cascade profiling, creation of airfoil 3D models, and generation of compressor maps, this addition allows for compressor flow path optimization based on an experiment planning technique.

Review of Nvidia Quadro FX 3450 Graphics Card

Hardware As CFD applications have become more powerful, they have also become more graphically intense. With many analysts using PCs as their workstation, a market has opened up for mid-range PC graphics hardware optimized for 3D visualization. Nvidia's latest offering in their professional line of cards is the Quadro FX 3450.

Cadalyst has posted a review of the Quadro FX 3450 where they run down the specs and evaluate the card's performance versus its $1,499 retail price.

News CD-adapco has announced the release of the STAR-CAD Gateways V4.02, CAD-embedded Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), with access to the full capabilities of STAR-CD V3.26 and STAR-CCM+ V1.08.

This new version of the STAR-CAD Gateways for the Windows 32-bit platform includes: STAR-CAT5 Gateway for CATIA V5, STAR-Pro/E Gateway for Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire, STAR-NX Gateway for NX and STAR-Works Gateway for SolidWorks.
