News CEI has introduced EnSight DR, the first commercial visualization application that brings the power of parallel graphics to the user’s desktop.

“Up until now, only expensive supercomputers have been able to efficiently render extremely large data sets,” says Dale Southard, a visualization hardware architect at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. Lawrence Livermore, Sandia and Los Alamos National Laboratories helped CEI develop its DR methodology in support of the Department of Energy (DOE) National Nuclear Security Administration’s (NNSA) Advanced Simulation and Computing Program.

Two-Phase Modeling Using PHOENICS

Help Desk Arnie writes "Hi,

I am working on a project for simulating two-phase steam-water flows using PHOENICS. Is there anybody familiar with PHOENICS? I am unable to fully understand the meaning of variables: 'CFIPS' and 'CINT'.

Also I would appreciate if you could suggest me some text reference for two-phase CFD. If anybody has done any such boiling/condensation simulations, help me out and if you could, please give me a comparison of the capability of present day CFD codes to simulate two-phase boiling/condensation flows.

Thanks a lot for your time and consideration.
