By automatically repairing dirty or over-complex CAD, surface wrapping addresses the most significant remaining bottleneck in the CAE process. Whilst previous wrapping approaches required a great deal of manual intervention in order to obtain a meshing quality surface, CD-adapco's new wrapping technology guarantees a closed manifold surface at every wrap.

The Evolocity system Linux Networx delivered is implemented with two different types of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) applications – FLOWer and FLUENT. FLOWer, is a research application developed by the German Aerospace Research Centre for aircraft development and design. FLUENT is a commercial software product from Fluent Inc. that simulates a wide range of applications in the aerospace, automotive, and general process industries. Linux Networx designed the Evolocity system for Eurocopter to specifically optimize these applications to achieve fast, accurate results.

“With Arena-flow version 5.0 users can have advanced control over new particle flow, tooling wear, and core density models,” said Mark Adamovits, senior product manager, Ashland Casting Solutions. “The improvements now available in version 5.0 provide users with several additional tools to improve productivity, reduce costs, shorten development timelines and eliminate costly process design errors. The additional development of a new, intuitive and more user-friendly graphical user interface (GUI) has also generated some very positive feedback from our current user base in the Americas, Europe and Asia.”

Structured hexahedral grid generation has long been one of Gridgen’s strengths. Smoothing hex grids to improve quality (smoothness, clustering, and orthogonality) involves the solution of elliptic partial differential equations (PDE). Up until recently, a simple pointwise, successive over-relaxation algorithm was used to compute the solution. In V15.08, a new multi-grid algorithm accelerates convergence of the PDE solution by up to a factor of 15, especially for large grids.

This year, the event will focus on advancing and emerging technologies combined with best practices and creative deployment examples directly from our customers.
