New weapons systems often took years to certify because tests were time consuming, expensive and occasionally led to the loss of aircraft when events didn't go as expected. Dynamically unstable objects such as fuel tanks and some modern, agile munitions that happen to experience a control failure are especially challenging.

The result: CFD did a good job of modeling separation at a speed of Mach 1.2 at an altitude of 38,000 ft.

This event will bring together engineers, designers, scientists, and researchers in CFD analysis of industrial flows and design optimization of turbomachinery blading and for two full days of user presentations, product seminars, technical discussions and keynote presentations.

The product is scheduled for release in late 2005, with final prototypes to be demonstrated at the European CATIA Forum on October 4 - 6th in Frankfurt, Germany. Additional demonstrations of FLUENT for CATIA will be made at the European Automotive CFD Conference (EACC) on June 29 - 30th in Frankfurt, Germany, where Fluent and Dassault Systèmes will jointly present the benefits of integrated analysis in the automotive PLM environment.
