Events: NIKA Announces International User Conference

Announcements NIKA GmbH, the leading provider of fluid flow and heat transfer simulation programs for engineers, has scheduled its annual International Users Conference for February 23rd and 24th, 2005, in Frankfurt, Germany.

In addition to CosmosFloWorks, which is marketed exclusively by SolidWorks Corp., NIKA develops and distributes two other products. EFD.Lab is an industry leading fluid flow and heat transfer simulation program and EFD.V5 offers seamless integration between Dassault Systèmes’ CATIA V5 and NIKA’s analysis technology.

The conference offers two full days of keynote presentations, technical sessions, case studies and events. Attendees have the chance to reach NIKA executives, product managers, developers and other users in an informal setting. Attendees interested in presenting are also encouraged to visit the NIKA website to apply for a speaking opportunity.

Business: Fluent Extends its Relationship with Ferrari

ANSYS FLUENT Fluent Inc., world leader in computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software, has announced that multiple Formula One motor racing World Drivers' and World Constructors’ Champions, Ferrari Spa, has extended its relationship with the company to recognize it as its Strategic CFD Provider. The new relationship was cemented in early September in Maranello, Italy, when Jean Todt, General Manager of Ferrari Spa, signed a new contract with Fluent for 3 years. The existing relationship between Ferrari’s Aerodynamics Department and Fluent Italia stretches back to 1996 when Fluent supplied them with software and services for CFD analysis of racing cars.

Commenting on the new agreement, Mario Almondo, Head of the Industrial Department of the Scuderia, said “We consider the use of CFD simulation and the services offered by Fluent as an important element in our racing success. That is why we are happy to name the company our Strategic CFD Provider”.

New Software: Visual Numerics' IMSL Fortran Library available for Cray XD1
