New Software: Open-source flow solver

Open Source Stephane Popinet writes "I am glad to announce the first "official" release of the Gerris Flow Solver (GFS 0.1.0). Gerris is an open-source, free-software library and code for the resolution of the three-dimensional partial differential equations describing incompressible fluid flow. Gerris can deal with arbitrarily complex solid boundaries in an automatic manner and uses dynamic adaptive mesh refinement to optimise the discretisation according to the flow solution.

The library can easily be extended through an object-oriented approach and is reasonably well documented.

Gerris is available free of charge under the terms of the Free Software Fundation General Public License (GPL)."

OpenGL 3D Graphics Boards
Posted Tue June 18, 2002 @06:13PM
Print version Email story Tweet story
Hardware ExtremeTech has posted a nice article which reviews the top PC OpenGL 3D graphics boards in fine detail.

In addition to running the common SPEC workstation benchmarks, the reviewers acquired a number of workstation-class applications that span CAD, MCAD, and DCC software areas, and created a number of custom tests with help from the software vendors.

The review also focused on performance in "dual-head" mode, which all of the top boards now support.

Now if someone would just donate a Wildcat III to me for "testing"...
