Post Processing Tecplot's foray into visualizing higher-order finite element geometry and solutions continues with a blog post on Visualizing Higher-Order Finite-Element Surfaces.

For higher-order finite-element surfaces, the geometry (x,y,z coordinates of any point on the surface) is defined for each element by polynomials in terms of the local surface coordinates (r,s).

New Software: Pointwise Introduces Intelligent Automatic Surface Meshing
Posted Fri October 16, 2020 @12:18PM

News The latest release of Pointwise’s computational fluid dynamics (CFD) mesh generation software includes automatic surface meshing, the first component of a planned suite of automation features called Flashpoint.

"A suitable mesh is just a stepping stone to a CFD flowfield solution," said John Chawner, Pointwise's president. "Too often, that stepping stone is a speed bump because of the effort required to generate a suitable mesh on a realistic geometry model. The new Flashpoint surface meshing combines automation with the control for which the Pointwise software is known."
